I am always seeking out new musicians that are highly creative, think about music in different ways, and don’t limit their abilities based on preconceived constructs that are often taught in school.
I tend to prefer to listen to music that breaks the rules.
One artist that I am particularly fond of is Pogo.
Pogo’s “signature” style is to take clips of songs from movies and television shows (he particularly likes Disney movies and Winnie the Pooh), and then blends the clips with his own beats and music to make an entirely unique and original song.
A favorite Pogo song of mine is “Data & Picard”, where he takes some lines from Picard and Data from different episodes (and some singing from Data as well) to create probably one of the best musical nods to Star Trek The Next Generation I know of.

Overall, I just like Pogo’s style and his music is upbeat and positive. I mean, how could you not like a song taking Agnes’ (from Despicable Me) Unicorn song and mixing it with Monsters Inc, and a bit of Kermit the Frog, and making into an entirely adorable and delightful experience?
Sure, I understand that this type of music is not going to be everyone’s “cup of tea” but if you’re open to giving it a listen, check out some of his tunes.
